Under the circumstances, if there is a possibility that money from 1MDB somehow wended its way into UMNO’s Kedah bank account back when Mukhriz was state liason chairman, shouldn’t PH be blaming him as well?
ALOR SETAR: Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir claimed today that he was not aware of funds linked to 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) being deposited into the account of Kedah UMNO back when he was the party’s state liaison chairman.
Meanwhile, on the 30thof May 2019, the Kuala Lumpur High Court was told that Datuk Seri Najib Razak appeared “shocked and upset” upon learning that a huge amount of money was transferred into his private accounts.
Mukhriz, who held the chairman post between 2013 and 2016, said matters pertaining to Kedah UMNO funds were left completely in the hands of its then treasurer, Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim.
Najib, on the other hand, legally authorised SRC International CEO Nik Faisal Ariff Kamil to handle matters related to his personal bank account.
