KUALA LUMPUR: Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has arrived at the Bukit Aman police headquarters here for questioning over his claim that 120 Members of Parliament support his bid to head the next federal government.

Anwar, who is believed to have entered Bukit Aman using a back entrance, arrived at 3pm.

Federal police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) deputy director Deputy Commissioner Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid confirmed his arrival when contacted.

Yesterday, CID director Datuk Huzir Mohamed revealed that 113 police reports have been lodged against the PKR president.

He said the investigation is being conducted under Section 505(b) of the Penal Code for intent to cause fear and alarm among the public, and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for sharing offensive or menacing content.

On Sept 23, the Port Dickson MP claimed that he has the majority support of parliamentarians to form a new government.

After his press conference, a list of MPs allegedly supporting Anwar was shared widely on social media – but many Umno lawmakers on the list lodged police reports denying their backing.

Questioning had originally been scheduled for Oct 12, but police were informed by Anwar’s private secretary that he could only be present on Oct 13.

However, on Tuesday, Anwar was granted an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.
