KOTA BARU: The move by Pakatan Harapan to hold discussions with Pas on the upcoming 14th General Election (GE14) shows it has no other way to get the Islamic party’s support.
Umno supreme council Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman said this also proves that Pakatan Harapan de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is not confident of winning GE14.
“He (Anwar) wants to hold discussions with Pas because he wants to get the support of the Islamic party. He is afraid if there are no discussions, Pakatan will become weak.
“However, I believe Pas knows the real reason behind this, especially DAP and Parti Keadilan Rakyat’s real attitude,” he told reporters after an Aidiladha cow slaughtering ceremony at Kampung Kemumin here, today.
He said Pakatan needed Pas’ support to enable the opposition coalition, especially PKR, to remain in power in Selangor and to take over other states.
