Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has staged a ‘Fake Harapan Wave” in traditional Pakatan Harapan (PH) strongholds to portray that PH will sweep the country come the 15th general election.

However, what Anwar does not talk about is the ceramahs he and a laundry list of PH candidates held in many areas where crowd turnouts left much to be desired.

Even in Pakatan Harapan Facebook pages, the spotlight is only on a few ceramahs that Anwar held in Perak and PH strongholds in the Klang Valley, while dozens of others conducted in many other areas were ‘blacked out’.

This is in contrast to PH Facebook postings back in 2018, where PH highlighted practically all ceramahs held by candidates, with many registering full houses.

According to a detailed study conducted by TTF with several politicians, intelligence sources and personnel from agencies conducting surveys, Barisan Nasional will only secure 29 to 32 seats, while PH will bag a mere 56.

Back in 2013, despite Anwar’s claim that the now defunct Pakatan Rakyat (PR) would march into Putrajaya, PKR only managed to secure 30 seats amid claims that the party would steal many seats from UMNO.

Needless to say, BN, which gained 133 seats, won the election.

Yet, three days after the election, Anwar triggered a series of rallies throughout Malaysia, beginning with one in Kelana Jaya on the 8th of May 2013.

The rally was held by various Malaysian opposition-friendly non-governmental organisations and opposition parties claiming that there had been irregularities in the polling.

The main venue chosen for the rally was Kelana Jaya Stadium – web sites and blogs claimed that the rally was attended by 120,000 people.

Noting that the stadium’s normal capacity is about 25,000, other sources estimated the number of people in and around the stadium to be between 64,000 and 69,000

120,000 or 69,000, the fact that PKR had won only 30 seats during the 13th general election, and yet, managed to gather tens of thousands of people soon after, proved that mega crowds do not translate into mega votes or seat gains for a coalition.

Nobody was surprised – it was a well known fact then as it is now that Anwar is a master of perception and tends to tell many lies, including multiple claims that he possessed majority support to become Prime Minister.

Meanwhile, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who PH sources claim will lose in Langkawi, has continued to amass large crowds during ceramahs held in the Klang Valley and several other areas.

However, sources have revealed that some media channels were asked to “black out” any good news pertaining Gerakan Tanah Air, in hopes of driving impression that the Mahathir led movement would lose big time come GE15.
