Azmin to Anwar: I gave you a chance, but you betrayed me

A ceasefire agreement between PKR president Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his deputy, Dato’ Seri Azmin Ali appears to have crumbled barely three days after it was entered.

On Wednesday, Azmin and Anwar met in Parliament at the height of a very public stand-off between the two over a decision by Anwar to revoke an invitation for Azmin to officiate the PKR youth congress.

During the meeting, Anwar, who is in a state of panic due to his flagging popularity, agreed to allow Azmin to officiate the youth and wanita congress and to review Zakaria Abdul Hamid’s sacking.

I have also been made to understand that the already panic-striken Anwar practically went berserk following the “sexual attack” allegation made by a Muhammed Yusoff Rawther and immediately instructed his men to arrange the Wednesday meeting (copy of Yusoff’s police report included, below article).

PETALING JAYA: A ceasefire agreement between PKR president Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his deputy, Dato’ Seri Azmin Ali appears to have crumbled barely three days after it was entered.

Speaking to reporters at a press conference in Ames Hotel, Melaka, Azmin said his team had entered an agreement with Anwar’s not to attack one another in the ongoing party congress.

However, according to Azmin, Anwar had failed to do so during the PKR Youth Congress and during this morning’s policy speech.

“He starts mentioning about Si Kitol and Raja Mandeliar, and this has opened the path for the debaters to attack (me) personally and break the unity of the leadership and members of Keadilan (PKR).

“The debaters for policy speech was also one sided and left out the grassroots voices… The speeches only brought up one man’s dream and brings down other leaders,” Azmin said.

“These showed how the president failed to keep his promise to ensure the state debaters adhered to the speech perimeters agreed upon by both sides,” he said at Ames Hotel lobby here.

It is learnt that Azmin and his team walked out from the congress in MITC earlier in the afternoon.

As a point of interest, Zakaria was Sarawak PKR chief Baru Bian’s political secretary while the former still served the Ministry of Works.

Azmin agreed to meet Anwar and suggested a ceasefire after some of Anwar’s men got in touch with the former’s and sought for a meeting between the duo.

According to a well placed source, Anwar was afraid that the majority of PKR leaders and members would boycott the youth and wanita congress should Azmin not have been allowed to officiate them.

On the 24th of November 2014, I wrote:

FMT reported yesterday that a source close to Baru Bian labelled the PKR convention held in Sarawak yesterday a failure, with less than 500 members attending.

According to the report, the convention, opened by Anwar, was held on instructions from the national leadership after Sarawak PKR chairman Bian had said it should be cancelled.

Speaking to FMT, a party leader aligned to Baru, who declined to be named, claimed that Anwar was unhappy with the outcome of the convention and did not meet or have discussions with any of the event organisers.

The poor turnout in Sarawak was due to a blanket call by a team of very powerful PKR leaders for party members to boycott all Anwar events.

I have also been made to understand that the already panic-stricken Anwar practically went berserk following the “sexual attack” allegation made by a Muhammed Yusoff Rawther and immediately instructed his men to arrange a meeting with Azmin.

On Wednesday, Yusoff alleged that Anwar had attacked him physically and sexually and had attempted to sodomise him (see police report below article).

On the 3rd of December 2019, I wrote:

As we speak, a very powerful team in PKR comprising state and national level leaders is considering calling for an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) to retire Anwar for good by mooting a vote of no-confidence against him.

I have been made to understand that the Malay-majority, multiracial team has the support of several DAP Members of Parliament (MPs) aligned with Azmin and the required quorum to call for the EGM before year end.

Azmin holds beneficial ownerships to more than half of PKR’s strategic assets and enjoys majority support from party leaders nationwide, including 33 PKR MPs, an estimate provided by a well placed source with evidence to go along with it.

That’s two MPs up from a previous estimate provided by the same source who is dead sure PKR is already “an Azmin Ali party” except in name.
