Azwanddin arrested, racist Waytha lurks free

Following is an article published by NST Online complete with responses by TTF (in blue):

SHAH ALAM: Police arrested Jaringan Melayu Malaysia (JMM) president Datuk Azwanddin Hamzah to assist in investigation on an alleged remark he uttered deemed provocative at a #Justice4Adib gathering which also doubled as a rally to call for the sacking of minister P Waytha Moorthy.

Selangor Criminal Investigation Department chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Fadzil Ahmat said Azwanddin was picked up at the Keramat Mall Complex, here, at 2.40pm.

“The arrest was to facilitate investigation under Section 506 of the Penal Code (for criminal intimidation).

“Further investigation is ongoing for allegedly threatening to attack a police station. He will be remanded at the Klang court at 9am tomorrow,” he said in a statement.

TTF: I know exactly what Azwanddin meant. It was to tell Malaysians to ‘serang’ the police station, meaning, people should head for the station to demand justice and lodge multiple reports against Waytha Moorthy.

According to Fadzil, Azwanddin would also be investigated under Section 504 of the Penal Code for intentionally insulting an individual with intent to provoke a breach of the peace.

TTF: So Azwanddin gets arrested and investigated under Section 504 of the Penal Code for seeking justice for Adib, while the racist Waytha lurks free despite having instigated protesters at the Seafield Hindu temple leading to Adib’s death.

How ironic, given that it was Gagasan Tiga (G3) that lodged a police report at the Dang Wangi IPD to defend the police against claims by Waytha that the police triggered unrest at the temple area by deliberately delaying action.

It was reported yesterday that Azwanddin had allegedly issued a statement on attacking the Klang police station if those responsible for the death of firefighter Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim, 24 were not arrested.

Apart from that, Azwanddin, according to a newsportal, had allegedly uttered a derogatory word in referring to Waytha Moorthy.

TTF: That Waytha is pariah Moorthy?

It’s true.

You expect me to call Waytha a saint?

In the rally organised by Gerakan Masyarakat Malaysia (Geras) yesterday, some 2,000 people gathered to perform special prayers for Muhammad Adib as well as Asar prayers at Masjid Bandar Diraja Klang.

Muhammad Adib died last week following injuries sustained while on duty during the Seafield Sri Maha Mariamman Temple riot last month.

The group that gathered also took to marching for some 400 metres towards Dataran Seni while saying ‘Allahuakbar’ and reciting praises for Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

Geras chairman Abu Bakar Mohamed also expressed disappointment with Azwanddin’s alleged remarks, saying they had stressed earlier that no such provocative remarks should be uttered during the peaceful rally.
