SEMENYIH: A slip of the tongue by Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate Muhammad Aiman Zainali may see him violate election rules.

The 30-year-old is said to have made the boo-boo after casting his ballot paper at the Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Engku Husain polling centre, when he told reporters he hoped voters would make a “wise choice” by voting for PH at the by-election.

“I hope the voters will make a smart choice to determine the fate of Semenyih, I hope they all vote for Pakatan Harapan.

“Vote for PH, vote for (Muhammad) Aiman Zainali,” he was alleged as saying.

Also present with him was wife, Nurul Filzah Bakhtiar, 29.

It is learnt that Aiman was not aware that he had possibly committed an offence under the Election Commission Act.

Section 26(1)(a) in the Election Commission Act 1954 states that no person on polling day shall hold, convene or organise any form of address that is open or involves members of the public or otherwise.
