BN manifesto wasn’t the “ramblings of an old man” but a vibrant thesis of a towering PM

TTF: A vibrant thesis befitting the intellect of a towering Prime Minister.

That’s how I look at the manifesto Dato’ Seri Najib Tun Razak unveiled yesterday (see news item), which, by far, is the no 1 manifesto the ruling coalition has produced since the country achieved independence. Ever since taking over the reins of government from Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, Najib has repeatedly proven himself to be a Prime Minister for all Malaysians and not just the Malays or supporters of Barisan Nasional.

But yesterday, he took things a notch further.

Not only did he prove himself to be a Prime Minister of virtue, he tackled each and every issue affecting everyday Malaysians in a manner that was comprehensive, transparent and coherent with the reforms he has thus far put in place. In short, Najib more or less sent a coded message to Lim Kit Siang that read, “Lim, send your son to me – I’ll teach him a thing or two about Competency, Accountability and Transparency (CAT).”

Yes, for the past five years or so, the Kit Siang led opposition coalition – in all its incarnations – channeled its energy into spite-filled campaigns designed to demonise Najib and destabilise UMNO. The mission was to indoctrinate voters with the idea that the Prime Minister was a “kleptocrat who stole RM42 billion from 1MDB.” Now, do you honestly believe that Kit Siang or anyone in the coalition has the black and white to prove that Najib is a kleptocrat?

If they did, they would already have flashed it right in front of the cameras without a minute’s hesitation or gotten their media mouthpieces to publish them. Instead, Dr Mahathir Mohamad (from whom the RM42 billion catchphrase originated) admitted that he did not have ‘enough’ evidence against Najib (see video below), meaning, everything he’s said about the Prime Minister was either made up or based entirely on hearsay.

Yet, he and Kit Siang still going on and on with the kleptocracy bullshxt as if it were inscribed in some Holy Gospel somewhere on God’s blessed earth.

Do you know why?

It’s because the duo has a fairly good idea how little it takes to con Malaysians. Conventional wisdom has it, that a lie, if repeated often enough, gets imprinted in the voter conscience as truth. But these guys know that with Malaysians, all you need is a picture of a ballot box next to a taxi to convince them that “phantom votes were being ferried to voting centres.”

Yes, all Kit Siang and gang have done so far is lie and lie and lie, and not to mention, offer promises that have tantalised even the laziest of minds. They’re all about giving you the moon and the stars and even that pot of gold buried at the end of the rainbow. But have they once explained their methods in a manner that is as comprehensive, as transparent and as coherent as Najib has?

No.

Yet, these guys are telling you that they’re going to save Malaysia.
