Pakatan Harapan’s alternative budget simply hantam and says abolish tolls.
Just a single sentence in a single paragraph on page 40 in the entire budget – nowhere else is it mentioned.
No calculations, no numbers and nowhere does it say how will they fund this – nada!
But it did mention that PLUS Highways alone cost RM36 billion to buy out – equivalent to 5.3 years of BR1M that cost RM6.8 billion for up to RM1,200 for each of the 7 million people – or RM6.360 for each of the B40 households.
Pakatan doesn’t say how much in total does it cost to abolish all tolls and how do they fund it. (perhaps using Invoke donations where Lapiji can pay Lapiji?).
And wouldn’t it be better to just pay the full amount to B40 households for entire Malaysia instead of also subsidizing rich users staying in the west coast of Malaysia where tolls are (most of it signed by Mahathir) – especially since Malaysians in the East Coast, Sabah and Sarawak do not even get to use the tolled highways?
