Claims that most ministers and deputy ministers were in favour of holding the 15th general election (GE15) by October this year is fake news.
This is according to communications and multimedia minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa, who added, the Cabinet has yet to discuss the next general election (GE15) or its potential dates.
Regarding claims that UMNO Members of Parliament were asked to sign stastutory declarations in support of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as prime minister, Annuar said he was never asked to sign anything.
“I never signed any SDs supporting Anwar. Zahid never asked me to sign an SD,” he said, referring to party president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

“The prime minister and the ministers meet every week and there have never been any discussions on GE15,” Annuar was quoted as saying.

Last week, former Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman claimed that he did not want to sign the SD at first but was “forced” to.
Yesterday, Anwar claimed that he had the support of 15 UMNO MPs at one time, including Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and Zahid.
