The short animation is titled “Once Upon a Virus” and was released by China’s official Xinhua news agency.
Taking the form of a back and forth between the two nations, the dialogue begins with a Chinese warrior who states they discovered a dangerous new virus, to which the Statue of Liberty replied:
“It’s only a flu … Don’t wear a mask.” The Statue of Liberty is also seen branding China’s “stay at home” policy as a violation of human rights.

In it, China is represented by a Lego terracotta warrior and a team of hazmat wearing characters whereas the US is represented by the Statue of Liberty.
Taking the form of a back and forth between the two nations, the dialogue begins with a Chinese warrior who states they discovered a dangerous new virus, to which the Statue of Liberty replied:
“It’s only a flu … Don’t wear a mask.”
The Statue of Liberty is also seen branding China’s “stay at home” policy as a violation of human rights.
The video underlines the idea that the US did not heed warnings from the Chinese Government but later accused China of “giving false data”.
Last month, US president Donald Trump accused both China and the World Health Organization (WHO) of a COVID-19 cover-up
“The world received all sorts of false information about transmission and mortality.
“The WHO failed to investigate credible reports from sources in Wuhan that conflicted directly with the Chinese government’s official accounts,” Trump said.
The video noted the fact that the US, which had once labelled China’s lockdown measures as “barbaric,” itself imposed “stay-at-home” measures.
