#TTFCovid19: The Government imposed Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO), now in its second week, has been extended for another four weeks from the 12th of May to the 9th of June.
The extension, announced by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin during a special televised broadcast today, marks the fourth time restrictions on movement have been extended since a Movement Control Order (MCO) took effect on the 18th of March 2020.
“Although we have achieved many encouraging developments in our fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, there are still measures that need to be implemented to contain the outbreak.
“I am also aware that many people in the country want the government to continue implementing reasonable measures to break the transmission chain of the virus,” Muhyiddin said.

The extension, announced by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin during a special televised broadcast today, marks the fourth time restrictions on movement have been extended since a Movement Control Order (MCO) took effect on the 18th of March 2020.
The MCO was relaxed after a three week run, giving way to the CMCO which allowed almost all economic sectors to resume operations.
According to Muhyiddin, the decision to extend the CMCO was on the advise of the Health Ministry and the National Security Council.
“Although we have achieved many encouraging developments in our fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, there are still measures that need to be implemented to contain the outbreak.
“I am also aware that many people in the country want the government to continue implementing reasonable measures to break the transmission chain of the virus,” he said.
