Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s criminal breach of trust (CBT) and corruption trial at the High Court has reportedly been adjourned for a day.
According to headlines, the adjournment was to allow him to discuss Cabinet appointments with Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
Muhyiddin was sworn in as the eighth Prime Minister of Malaysia before Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah at Istana Negara yesterday.
Zahid, tipped to be the next Deputy Prime Minister, was slapped with 47 charges of CBT involving Yayasan Akalbudi funds, money laundering as well as accepting bribes for various projects during his tenure as home minister.

According to a news report, the adjournment was to allow him to discuss Cabinet appointments with Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
Judge Collin Lawrence Sequerah allowed the application after hearing Zahid’s lawyer Hisyam Teh Poh Teik and deputy public prosecutor Raja Rozela Raja Toran.
“His presence is needed in the discussion with the prime minister on the formation of the Cabinet,” Hisyam said.
Raja Rozela told the judge that the prosecution had five witnesses lined up for today but left it to the courtto decide.
