ULAANBAATAR (Mongolia): Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said the courts should be left to decide the fate of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
She said the law would take its course based on all the available evidence against Najib.
On the gag order which had been imposed on the case, Dr Wan Azizah said it was Najib’s right to seek such restriction.
“It wouldn’t be fair if he is tried in the media,” she said, after attending the Asian Ministrial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction.
On another matter, Dr Wan Azizah said she had also been invited to meet with the Mongolian president, Khaltmaagiin Battulga late yesterday evening.
Asked if the investigation on murderd Mongolian model, Altantuya Shaariibuu had been raised, she said it was important everyone knew that Malaysia had was acting according to the rule of law.
In another development, Dr Wan Azizah said she was thankful her husband had been released from hospital after seeking treatment for his back ache.
