DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said today that Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) will only accept former Umno members with a clean track record into its fold.
Guan Eng, however, admitted that he had yet to scrutinise Mahathir’s statement, meaning, he never met the latter or called him to discuss the matter.
To Guan Eng, our message is that it’s best he butts out of the affairs of the Malay-Muslims lest he starts a racial war which GBN is ever ready to participate in.
GEORGE TOWN: DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said today that Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) will only accept former Umno members with a clean track record into its fold.
He said this in response to PPBM chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s call yesterday for all Malay parties to come under his party’s banner in the name of unity.
Guan Eng, however, admitted that he had yet to scrutinise Mahathir’s statement, meaning, he never met the latter or called him to discuss the matter.
That begs the question if he is sending a coded warning to Mahathir not to do things without the DAP’s approval or if he’s somehow been appointed by Mahathir to represent PPBM.
Either way, GBN already called Mahathir a hypocrite yesterday and reminded him that it is he who helped weaken Malay unity by promoting factionalism within the Malay-Muslim political landscape.
To Guan Eng, our message is that it’s best he butts out of the affairs of the Malay-Muslims lest he starts a racial war which GBN is ever ready to participate in.
