“Will DAP be as principled as Selayang MP William Leong? Will DAP quit in protest?”
PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Ti Lian Ker wants to know if DAP is prepared to sever ties with PKR if they continue to work with PAS.
The MCA religious harmony bureau chairman pointed out that PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Azmin Ali had issued a statement about his willingness to work with PAS.
He said the empowerment of PAS in Selangor was an affront to DAP and signalled the demise of Amanah.
Azmin on Sunday said that PKR would not sever ties with PAS as the party respected differences in opinion.
“It is no secret any more that PKR has every intention to work with PAS in the upcoming general election, in total disregard of DAP’s objections to PAS,” said Ti in a statement on Tuesday.
“Will DAP be as principled as Selayang MP William Leong? Will DAP quit in protest?” he added.
He also pointed out that Azmin was notably absent at Monday’s Pakatan Harapan presidential council meeting where they concluded that they would not be cooperating with PAS in the upcoming 14th General Election.
“Was it meant to allow him to continue courting and cajoling PAS to work together with DAP by extension?” asked Ti.
Pakatan Harapan is made up of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, DAP, PKR and Amanah.
PAS had previously worked with PKR and DAP in the last two general elections, making up the Pakatan Rakyat pact that disbanded in 2015.
