Lim Guan Eng is calling for stern action against Gagasan Kuasa 3 (G3) for making false and malicious accusations to incite racial discord.
He added that he will lodge a police report and take legal action against the coalition.
Raggie claimed that G3 is currently made up of 53 Malay Muslim NGOs, but further claims to have 300 more Malay Muslim NGOs in the next three months.
KUALA LUMPUR: Lim Guan Eng is calling for stern action against Gagasan Kuasa 3 (G3) for making false and malicious accusations to incite racial discord.
The Finance Minister said the group, which claims to “defend” Malays and Muslims against the “DAP race”, had accused him of diverting RM200mil meant for Malay students under the government’s MaGIC entrepreneur development programme to Chinese temples.
“They claimed I ordered that the money be given to Chinese temples.
“The group even claimed that monks visit my office everyday.
“These are malicious allegations. There is no truth in them,” said Lim, who is also DAP secretary-general.
“This is very dangerous as they want to fan and incite (racial) sentiments so that more (people) will come on Dec 8 (for the anti-ICERD rally).”
He added that he will lodge a police report and take legal action against the coalition.
“There is no problem if the gathering is peaceful,” he told reporters at Parliament lobby today (Nov 22).
Lim said the allegations have since gone viral and he was advised to seek legal redress on the matter.
“I advise them to show proof or retract the allegations and apologise.
“If they fail to do so, I will take legal action,” Lim said.
G3 is headed by blogger Ragvinder Singh Jess, better known as Raggie Jessy.
The group announced yesterday (Nov 21) that they are forming a “third force alliance” to “defend” constitutional provisions for Malays, Islam and the Malay rulers.
They lambasted DAP advisor Lim Kit Siang as being the “father of racism”.
Raggie claimed that G3 is currently made up of 53 Malay Muslim NGOs, but further claims to have 300 more Malay Muslim NGOs in the next three months.
The advisor for G3 is Azwanddin Hamzah, who is linked to Jaringan Melayu Malaysia (JMM).
Azwanddin previously slammed Deputy Defence Minister Liew Chin Tong (who is from DAP) for being “kurang ajar” and disrespecting the Malaysian Armed Forces by wearing a “communist” khaki-coloured uniform.
Liew explained that the “uniform” was a bush jacket provided by the Ministry of Defence for official military functions.
A mega gathering to oppose Malaysia’s possible signing of the international Convention on Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD) is being organised by both Umno and PAS, in Kuala Lumpur on Dec 8.
On Monday (Nov 19), Home Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, said that although people were allowed to organise and attend the mega rally against ICERD, they should stay away from making provocative statements.
