HULU SELANGOR: Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail has denied rumours suggesting that her daughter, Nurul Izzah Anwar, is getting married to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V.
The deputy prime minister was visibly surprised when she was asked to comment on such rumours, which had been circulating on the social media.
Dr Wan Azizah described the rumours surrounding her daughter, who is also the Permatang Pauh Member of Parliament, as hearsay.
“No, no, no. Do not listen to hearsay. It is not true,” she told reporters after her visit to Rumah Ehsan in Kuala Kubu Baru here today.
The rumours escalated quickly after Nurul Izzah and her family received a royal invitation from the Agong to visit him in Kelantan last week, and flew there on a private jet.
