Political secretary to Economic Affairs Azmin Ali (pictured), Hilman Idham today revealed that Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz is actually a victim “in a dirty political game to bring down Azmin”, reported Malaysiakini today.
“During the meeting, Haziq told me that he was a victim in a dirty political game to bring down Azmin. He claimed the video was fake, and denied he was the person in the video,” Hilman said in a statement that was reported by the news portal today.

Haziq in a Facebook posting yesterday claimed that Hilman “had tried to force him into denying that Azmin was the other man in a gay sex video” during a meeting at a restaurant in the Marriot Putrajaya Hotel on Tuesday afternoon.
But Hilman today claimed that was not what happened.
“During the meeting, Haziq told me that he was a victim in a dirty political game to bring down Azmin. He claimed the video was fake, and denied he was the person in the video,” Hilman said in a statement that was reported by the news portal today.
“Haziq also asked for my views about meeting his family (members) to get their feedback. I agreed and asked him to be patient.
“I also advised him that in facing such slander, family is an important element in protecting his emotions and dignity,” Hilman added.
Haziq is the the senior private secretary to Deputy Primary Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin.
Hilman is not consistent with his responses. Yesterday, he told reporters that he couldn’t make public his discussions with Haziq as the matter rested with the police following a report he made.
But today, despite lodging a fresh report against Haziq, he suddenly seems willing to divulge details. In any event, the most important person who should come out and lodge a report against Haziq over the sex video claims is none other than Azmin Ali, the man who stands accused.
