Police will summon all parties in the videos involving two men engaging in sex acts, which were leaked and spread on social media recently, to have their statements recorded.

Haziq, who has been suspended from work as the private secretary to Deputy Primary Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin, accused Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Azmin Ali of recording the clips.

It was reported that Haziq was attempting to board a flight to Manila, the Philippines, before he was arrested by the Federal Special Investigations team at 6pm at KLIA yesterday.

KANGAR: Police will summon all parties in the videos involving two men engaging in sex acts, which were leaked and spread on social media recently, to have their statements recorded.

Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Abdul Hamid Bador said police will summon all parties including “the person who made the accusations and the individual being accused” to facilitate investigations into the case.

At the moment, he said, an investigation was ongoing and the police have yet to conclude “who was guilty” in relation to the sex clips.

“Similar to other criminal cases, the police will follow the standard operating procedure in our investigation after we have opened an investigation paper on the case.

“Investigations into the case will also determine if the pictures and clips circulated are authentic or otherwise.

“Until then, I do not want to make any conclusions since investigations are ongoing,” Abdul Hamid told reporters when met at the Perlis state police headquarters here today.

Santubong PKR Youth chief Muhammad Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz, on Wednesday, had admitted he was one of the two men engaged in sex acts in two video clips.

Haziq, who has been suspended from work as the private secretary to Deputy Primary Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin, accused Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Azmin Ali of recording the clips.

“Police will also investigate if the person who had made the accusations was telling the truth or that he was forced to make the confession as well whether this (the sex clips) is part of a conspiracy or otherwise.

“Once investigations into the case have been completed, the police will submit the investigation paper to the Attorney-General’s Chambers to decide on the next course of action,” Abdul Hamid said, adding that he did not want to put pressure on the team tasked with probing the case although he hoped that investigation over the matter could be completed soon.

Abdul Hamid confirmed that Haziq, who was arrested at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport yesterday, would be released on police bail today.

“Even after he is released, the police can summon him if we need o more statements from him to facilitate our investigation.

“He (Haziq) is free to go anywhere (after he was released on police bail) except overseas since the case is still being investigated,” he said.

Abdul Hamid refused to speculate when he was asked if Haziq wanted to hide in another country before he was arrested.

It was reported that Haziq was attempting to board a flight to Manila, the Philippines, before he was arrested by the Federal Special Investigations team at 6pm at KLIA yesterday.

Federal Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk Huzir Mohamed said details of his destination were confirmed based on a flight ticket in his possession.
