It’s confirmed – PPBM will contest under DAP banner if deregistered

TTF: Dr Mahathir Mohamad is attempting to rubbish claims by TTF (see news item below).

On Tuesday, TTF cautioned Lim Guan Eng against taking things easy by telling the DAP Secretary-General that Mahathir was eyeing his position. Then, just yesterday, the former premier got one of his minions in PPBM to deny that the party’s candidates would use the DAP’s logo should the RoS deregister PPBM ahead of the 14th general election (GE14).

Confusing, huh?

Well, not if you understand the grand old man the way I do. Yes, I have a PhD in Mahathirism and can tell you right off the bat what goes on in that sick twist’s mind every time he opens his mouth. You see, not many know that the Machiavellian is an expert when it comes to chugging the rumour mills to his advantage.

First, he’ll claim to want to do something that is so incredible, almost everyone will find it difficult to believe him. Next, he’ll get his minions to say the exact opposite just to trigger debates and confuse members of the public. Then, once he actually does what he said he would do, people would no longer find it incredible as the matter would have been planted subliminally in their feeble and impressionable minds.

Get the idea?

If you do, then take my word for it – PPBM candidates will contest GE14 under the DAP banner should the party be deregistered. Under the circumstances, Mahathir will drag 200 of his loyalists into the DAP before assuming the role of Secretary-General. Once that happens, he will immediately undertake to create a position for his son – possibly that of assistant Secretary-General – at central level and a couple of positions for his loyalists at division and branch levels.

When all this is accomplished, he will proceed to grant all PPBM members -some 200 -300 of them – voting rights during the DAP’s CEC election. Assuming Lim Kit Siang agrees – and he will – Mahathir will flood the DAP with PPBM members and more or less turn the party into a Malay majority concern.

Interesting, yes?

But definitely not as interesting as this – once the next CEC election is concluded, we will see a complete transformation of the DAP with the former premier and his men dominating key positions in the party! Now, do you think I’m making all this up? If you do, then, consider this – Mahathir and a couple of Kit Siang’s detractors from the DAP agreed on the formula last Tuesday, the 13th of March 2018 at 11pm.

These guys are sure that Guan Eng will end up in jail, meaning, the DAP will have to consider a replacement Secretary-General sooner or later. Should Kit Siang not agree with Mahathir’s terms, the grand old man plans to piss him off by hopping over to PKR and giving the reformist party 101 reasons to contest all UMNO seats in the peninsula.

Now, do you realise what that would mean? Under the circumstances, Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and gang would have a definite shot at outperforming the DAP during the general election to emerge the most dominant group in Pakatan Harapan. Tell me, do you honestly think Kit Siang can ever afford to live with something like that?

Of course not.

Which is why, the DAP remains Hobson’s choice insofar as Mahathir is concerned. Amanah is out of the question, as the Malays have more or less rejected the party and are on board with PAS and UMNO. And this is something both the former premier and the senior Lim are well aware of.

As a matter of fact, Kit Siang himself knows that Mahathir’s mere presence in Amanah will provide PAS ammunition to destroy Harapan by evoking memories of Memali and what have you. But with the DAP, things just can’t go wrong – the Malays will give the party another think as the idea that the DAP is Chinese chauvinist will no longer apply.

Now do you understand why Mahathir intends to contest under the DAP banner?

*******************************************

KUALA LUMPUR: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) candidates will use the logo of any ally that is not DAP, in the event the party is deregistered before the general election, a source said.

According to New Straits Times, the source said some PPBM leaders were concerned about the effects of using the DAP logo on the pro-Bumiputra party’s audience and supporters.

They believed it would be safer to use either PKR or Amanah’s logo instead, due to Malay voters’ views about the Chinese-dominated opposition party.

“Many (at the grassroots level) will not agree and will be against PPBM candidates contesting under a DAP ticket.

“This was despite the matter not being discussed at the state or national level. PPBM is a Malay party and it will be tough if we have to use the DAP logo in the general elections,” the person said.

The source added that the concern was not an indictment of DAP’s strengths, but a reflection of Malay and Bumiputra sentiments.

The Registrar of Societies has threatened PPBM with deregistration under Section 14(5) of the Societies Act 1966 for failing to submit information and documents on meetings at all levels, as well as its financial statements.
