‘It’s fake news’, TTF told on news report regarding ‘controversy’ during Presidential Council meeting

TTF was further made to understand by the source that the sparks that flew during the meeting was dramatics at best as the majority seemed inclined to give Mahathir full control. Source (pic): MMO

A well-placed source privy to what truly transpired during the Pakatan Harapan Presidential Council meeting yesterday confided with TTF that the narrative being played up in the social media regarding what happened, and carried by a prominent pro-DAP news portal, is fake.

According to the source, who provided irrefutable evidence to TTF, the narrative was likely crafted by teams associated with Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the DAP, possibly to cast a shadow of doubt over people from AMANAH and PKR who are currently aligned with Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

According to the evidence presented, the idea that AMANAH president Mohamad Sabu was the ‘main villain’ is fake, though TTF is not at liberty to divulge what truly transpired, at least, not for the moment.

The notion that the meeting agreed to hand near-absolute power to Mahathir – as evinced from his press statement – because Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) threatened to leave Pakatan Harapan was grossly exaggerated.

“The logic is, if Anwar truly commanded the majority as his people claim, he himself would have told Bersatu to fly kites,” the source said.

PETALING JAYA: A well-placed source privy to what truly transpired during the Pakatan Harapan Presidential Council meeting yesterday confided with TTF that the narrative being played up in the social media regarding what happened, and carried by a prominent pro-DAP news portal, is fake.

“There was a ‘main villain’ in the meeting, and it isn’t who they’re implying it is. They’re protecting the ‘main villain’.

“The narrative is more of a ‘face-saving’ measure as Anwar was terribly humiliated during the (post meeting) press conference where Mahathir (more or less) played him down.

“Mahathir made it clear he was boss, and (team) Anwar couldn’t take it,” the source said.

TTF was shown evidence of a ‘script’ similar to the narrative being played up. The script was first published at around 10.45 pm, 15 minutes after the anticipated time of the press conference on Friday.

However, the ‘first draft’ was removed some 10 minutes later before it reappeared at around 4 am today via a Facebook posting, albeit with alterations.

“Anyone with the right frame of mind who watched the press conference will clearly be able to tell that Mahathir was in control.

“I’m not going to comment on the ‘Bersatu leaving PH’ part, but it was not the reason a transition date was not fixed.

“The crux of the issue is simple – the people Anwar had entrusted (to insist) on a transition date did not deliver because they played him out. Everything else they said and did was ‘window-dressing’. Full stop.”

TTF was further made to understand by the source that the sparks that flew during the meeting was also exaggerated and dramatics at best as the majority seemed inclined to give Mahathir full control.

“Of course, those who are pro-Mahathir from AMANAH and PKR would still pose some suggestions here and there and make some noise just to please their ‘bosses’.

“The logic is, if Anwar truly commanded the majority as his people claim, he himself would have told Bersatu to fly kites.”

Based on the evidence presented, some quite overwhelming, TTF is in absolute agreement with the source.
