Only a handful of ministers in the unity government are performing well, says Khairy Jamaluddin who adds that Anwar Ibrahim’s Cabinet has been inconsistent.

“Some are doing a good job but some do not stand out,” he said in a podcast, “Keluar Sekejap” with Shahril Hamdan. However, Khairy did not identify the ministers.

Khairy gave the unity government a “B-” rating which he said was good considering that Ahmad Zahid Hamidi was its deputy prime minister.

The former health minister and the Umno president had been at loggerheads prior to Khairy’s sacking from the party in January.

The former health minister and the Umno president had been at loggerheads prior to Khairy’s sacking from the party in January.

The former Rembau MP again took a swipe at Zahid, labelling the latter an albatross around Anwar’s neck – alluding to the Bagan Datuk MP’s court charges.

Zahid is accused of 47 counts of money laundering and criminal breach of trust involving millions of ringgit from Yayasan Akalbudi and accepting bribes for various projects during his tenure as the home minister in the previous administration.

Anwar has since defended Zahid’s appointment, stating that he could not dismiss the BN chairman’s importance in the unity government that he leads.

Meanwhile, Shahril gave Anwar’s government an “A-” as it had not made any major blunders.

“A lot more could have been done but with a first-time unity government in place, things could have gone south,” said the former Umno information chief, who had been suspended from the party for six months.
