Barisan Nasional looks set to re-capture the Kimanis Parliamentary seat, won previously by Anifah Aman during the 2018 general election (GE14).
According to reports, Barisan’s Mohamad Alamin has a big lead over his opponent Karim Bujang from Warisan based on unofficial tallies.
Celebrations have broken out in BN’s election war room with Umno leaders Ahmad Zahidi Hamidi, Mohamad Hasan, Annuar Musa and Bung Moktar Radin leading the cheers.
There are a total of 29,664 eligible voters in Kimanis and it is estimated that slightly more than 80 percent of eligible voters participated in the by-election.
PETALING JAYA: Barisan Nasional looks set to re-capture the Kimanis Parliamentary seat, won previously by Anifah Aman during the 2018 general election (GE14).
The seat was declared vacant after the Federal Court on 2nd of December 2019 upheld the Election Court’s earlier 16th of August ruling.
Anifah, then with UMNO, thrashed his competition from Warisan by a wafer thin 156 seat majority.
He however left Barisan to become an independent lawmaker following the 14th general election.
