
TTF: Latheefa Koya took her oath of office before the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and had a police report lodged against her, both today.
At 2.30 pm, Gerakan Bangsa Nasional (GBN) lodged an elaborate report at the IPD in Subang Jaya against the new MACC chief and her predecessor, Dato’ Seri Mohd Shukri Abdull.
Dato’ Ambiga Sreenevasan, Tan Sri Zeti Akhtar Aziz and Tommy Thomas were also named in the report. An earnest plea was made to the Inspector General of Police, Dato’ Seri Abdul Hamid Bador, to look into claims made and conduct a thorough discovery into the matter.

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Latheefa Beebi Koya took her oath of office before the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah at Istana Negara, today.
Sultan Abdullah presented her the Letter of Appointment as the 14th MACC chief, on a two-year contract, from June 2, 2019 to May 31, 2021.
The swearing-in ceremony was in accordance with Section 5 (7) of the MACC 2009 Act, in which each appointed chief commissioner shall take the oath of office before the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
Latheefa, 46, takes over from Datuk Seri Mohd Shukri Abdull who shortened the length of his contract, which ends on May 17, 2020.
She holds a Bachelor’s of Law degree from the University of London, and was the former executive director of Lawyers for Liberty and former member of the central committee of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR).
Also present at the ceremony were Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Liew Vui Keong and MACC deputy chief commissioner (Operation) Datuk Seri Azam Baki.
