Yet another leaked audio clip of the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) high council meeting, held on the 23rd of February 2020, has surfaced.

This is according to Free Malaysia Today, which claims that a voice resembling that of PPBM president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin suggested that Umno leaders be enticed to join PPBM with promises of positions on the Cabinet and Government Linked Companies.

“If they know a new government is going to be formed with Umno, why not tell them join us now rather than later? I think if we do that… 10, 20 people… Najib and his gang… and we give them positions… if not ministers, then chairmen of GLCs.

“They might not want to be left out. Rather than stay now and become opposition, they want to be a part of the government,” the voice allegedly said.

PETALING JAYA: Yet another leaked audio clip of the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) high council meeting, held on the 23rd of February 2020, has surfaced.

This is according to Free Malaysia Today (see screenshot below), which claims that a voice resembling that of PPBM president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin suggested that Umno leaders be enticed to join PPBM with promises of positions on the Cabinet and Government Linked Companies.

The authenticity of the clip has yet to be verified, the portal claims.

According to FMT, based on the recording, PPBM leaders were encouraged to convince Umno Members of Parliament to switch sides with hopes that PPBM would become the largest Malay party in government.

In a previous clip of the same meeting, since verified, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was heard pleading with council members not to force him to work with UMNO as it went against his principles.

The clip contradicted claims by several quarters, some from PPBM, that it was Mahathir who told the meeting that the party needed to work with UMNO en bloc.
