Lim Kit Siang has joined in the footsteps of his son, Lim Guan Eng, by hurling insults bordering on racism and religious extremism against PAS, his sworn enemy.
“Datuk Seri Hadi Awang thinks Malaysians are fools to believe the latest PAS fairy tale that its confidence motion in Parliament next month is to save the nation,” Lim said in a statement.
“When in fact it is to torpedo the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government and advance Hadi’s choice for Malaysians to be goat-herders or pig-herders,” he added.
On Monday Guan Eng alleged that the rumoured ‘Pakatan Nasional’ coalition would be a dangerous and open threat towards non-Muslims, the Federal Constitution of Malaysia and the Democratic Institution.
PETALING JAYA: Lim Kit Siang has joined in the footsteps of his son, Lim Guan Eng, by hurling insults bordering on racism and religious extremism against PAS, his sworn enemy.
Earlier today, the DAP supremo cum Iskandar Puteri assemblyman said PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang’s planned motion of confidence for Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was nothing but political manoeuvring and proof of the Opposition’s irreverence for democratic principles.
According to the senior Lim, claim by PAS that motion is meant to save the country is nothing short of a “fairy tale”.
“Datuk Seri Hadi Awang thinks Malaysians are fools to believe the latest PAS fairy tale that its confidence motion in Parliament next month is to save the nation.
“When in fact it is to torpedo the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government and advance Hadi’s choice for Malaysians to be goat-herders or pig-herders,” he added.
“It is also proof that the present PAS leadership is never committed to the principles of parliamentary democracy and will be the first to dispense with democratic principles and practices if given access to power,” Lim reportedly said.
Lim further alleged that Hadi was propagating a PAS-sanctioned “Shariah-compliant lie.”
PAS justified yesterday its planned motion of confidence to keep Dr Mahathir as prime minister for the remaining term, saying the latter’s leadership was needed to mitigate the infighting within the ruling coalition.
While I have been dead against it (watch video below), calling it an act in futility, I do respect PAS’ decision to go ahead with it as the party is at liberty to so, be it democratically, legally or morally.

It follows, Kit Siang’s claim that PAS’s move shows it isn’t committed to the principles of parliamentary democracy is nothing but hogwash laced with anti-Islam and racist overtones.
On Monday Guan Eng alleged that the rumoured ‘Pakatan Nasional’ coalition would be a dangerous and open threat towards non-Muslims, the Federal Constitution of Malaysia and the Democratic Institution.
According to the DAP secretary-general, the people would be flung into the dark ages should such a coalition, which he claimed would see non-Muslims as enemies, became a reality.
As far as Kit Siang and his son’s statements go, I will fully back PAS and hope that the Royal Malaysian Police takes note of their rants and acts pursuant to law in the interest of harmony.
