“This is in line with the GoM’s previous efforts to freeze UMNO’s accounts on suspicion that the party received the proceeds of funds allegedly siphoned off 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB), an exercise both the DAP and Lim Kit Siang did not seem to have a problem with”

The Government of Malaysia (GoM) with the assistance of Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) Special Branch Counter-Terrorism Division (E8) and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) should establish a “Counter-Terrorism Ad-Hoc Committee” (CTAC) with immediate effect to investigate the DAP for possible links with terrorism.
This is considering that four party members, all of whom hold prominent positions in the Pakatan Harapan administration with two being State Legislative Assembly Members, are suspected of involvement in clandestine efforts to revive the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), a terrorist organisation recognised as such by over 30 nations, Malaysia included.
Given that PDRM has traced monetary transactions involving the LTTE and the arrested DAP men, Gerakan Bangsa Nasional (GBN) proposes that the CTAC, if established, takes necessary measures to freeze the DAP’s bank accounts to trace all possible links with terrorist organisations, particularly the LTTE.
GBN is considering lodging a police report (an update will be provided soon) to seek both PDRM’s and the MACC’s intervention on the matter and as a precursor to a possible effort by all concerned towards freezing the DAP’s bank accounts.
This is in line with the GoM’s previous efforts to freeze UMNO’s accounts on suspicion that the party received the proceeds of funds allegedly siphoned off 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB), an exercise both the DAP and Lim Kit Siang did not seem to have a problem with.
If the freezing of the accounts establishes links to terrorism, GBN recommends that the Registrar of Societies (RoS) deregisters the party and aliases with the Election Commission to disqualify all elected representatives from the party and from contesting the 15th general election (GE15).
