TTF: Imagine you’re in a restaurant. You’re waiting half an hour for a dish you ordered to arrive. Then, you call the chef. When you ask what happened to your dish, the chef says one of his cooks has yet to cut the onions. Now, is that really your problem or that of the chef?
That is the question we ought to be asking Mahathir, who seems to think that the failure of PPBM branches and divisions to conduct AGMs is the RoS’ problem (see news item below). Not only did he openly admit that the party leadership was incompetent, he just proved that he is indeed a master in the art of tai chi, an art that allows you to project your deficiencies onto others.
KUALA LUMPUR: The failure of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) to hold its first annual general meeting as required by the Registrar of Societies (RoS) is due to the fact that it has yet to do so at the branch and division levels.
The party’s chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said that if the lower levels had not done with their respective meetings, it would be impossible for them to send representatives to the party’s AGM.
“At the moment, we have not organised the meetings yet because in order to have the AGM, we have to start with the meetings of cawangan (branches) first, then bahagian (division) level, then only we can determine who will attend the AGM,” he told a press conference at the Parliament lobby today.
Yesterday, the party’s secretary-general Datuk Dr Shaharuddin Md Salleh was grilled by RoS following complaints that the top leadership had failed to comply with the party’s constitution.
Shahruddin was summoned after eight PPBM divisions in Johor made complaints to the RoS that the PPBM top leadership failed to comply with the party’s constitution, including the failure of all PPBM branches and divisions to hold the meetinga, despite its establishment one year ago.
