Parti Pejuang Tanah Air president Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has taken the lead in a poll to gauge the rakyat’s sentiments on who should be the next prime minister, followed by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, coming in a close second.
Mahathir, who received 48 per cent of the 2,492 votes cast, is also the chairman of Gerakan Tanah Air, a coalition comprising four Malay-Muslim based political parties and a group of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs).
Muhyiddin received 30 per cent of votes, while Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who claims to be leading a campaign for change, managed to bag a mere 15 per cent.
