KUALA LUMPUR: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad today denied backing any particular individual as a candidate for prime minister.
The former prime minister said he was now with the new party that he formed, Parti Pejuang Tanah Air (PEJUANG), and was currently acting independently without having any links to any party or individuals vying for positions.
“I was informed that I am backing one of the candidates aspiring to be the prime minister; I would like to state that I have never supported anyone as a candidate to become the prime minister.
“I hope there are no more attempts stating that I am supporting a certain individual. No support, thank you,” he said via Facebook today.
