TTF: Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad made it clear today that local council elections were not part of the Pakatan Harapan government’s agenda (see news item below).
Hours later, when approached by newsmen, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng dismissed the Prime Minister’s claim by stressing that any decision on the matter would require the agreement of all parties within the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition.
Did TTF not tell you that the DAP is in control of government, that Mahathir is nothing but a puppet Prime Minister serving a DAP state?
PUTRAJAYA: Local council elections are not part of the Pakatan Harapan government’s agenda, says Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
The Prime Minister said local government elections may end up causing race-related conflicts in the country.
“Local council elections may produce the wrong results.
“The urban may be different, the rural may be different.. there will be conflicts emphasised by racial differences and the like. So we don’t want that to happen.
Previously, Pakatan had suggested that local government elections may be introduced if it is in power, but this was not expressly promised in its manifesto.
