Former deputy education minister Teo Nie Ching took to Facebook today to warn users against the spreading of fake news following an apology from Melaka Deputy Speaker Ghazale Muhamad over a fake posting.
In an apparent jab at the deputy speaker, Neo expressed concern that people were not checking facts before posting or sharing pieces of information online.
Teo was referring to an apology issued by Ghazale over a picture from 2018 claiming that Teo had called for the approval of citizenship for children from other countries to balance the number of Bumiputeras and non-Bumiputeras in the country.
The Ghazale had reposted the picture on his Facebook but has since deleted it and issued an apology to Teo.
