Former prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin has repeated his claim that Anwar Ibrahim and Ahmad Zahid Hamidi will form a coalition government between Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) after the 15th general election (GE15).
The Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman reiterated this after Anwar, the PKR president, denied the claim in a recent ceramah.
Meanwhile Zahid, who is defending his Bagan Datuk seat, openly stated that BN was not rejecting the possibility of working with other parties after GE15, in order to ensure stability.
Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob on the other hand said that any cooperation with other coalitions would be determined by the BN Supreme Council and not by any individual.

He said Umno, the BN lynchpin, had no choice after refusing to work with Bersatu and PN if it lacks the support needed to form the government on its own.

“Zahid himself has said that he is ready to form an alliance with any party that works with Umno.
“But he rejected Bersatu at the Umno general assembly. Since he has done so, who is he likely to choose? PH?” Muhyiddin said at a ceramah in Indera Mahkota, Pahang, last night.
Dr Mahathir Mohamad, the Pejuang chairman, had previously said the same about cooperation between Anwar and Zahid.

PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli previously said he would be the first to oppose cooperation with Umno.
But Muhyiddin said he had been told the truth about an understanding between the two leaders.
“He knows that Umno will not win enough seats to form the government on its own, so he will take steps to work with PH instead,” he said.
