Following is an article adapted from The Sun Daily complete with responses by TTF (in blue):
KUALA LUMPUR: Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) president Mohamad Sabu has described the allegation that there was a conspiracy to table a motion of no-confidence vote against Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as merely a rumour spread by the opposition.
TTF: That is not true.
There have been multiple conspiracies hatched to trigger a motion of no-confidence against Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
The first involves Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Khairy Jamaluddin and a team in PPBM that does not want Dato’ Seri Azmin Ali made Prime Minister and Dato’ Seri Mukhriz Mahathir, his deputy.
The second also has to do with Anwar, but this time, involves several PPBM and opposition leaders, the most notable among them being embattled UMNO president Dato’ Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and his number two, Dato’ Seri Mohamad Hasan.
The third involves DAP de facto chief Lim Kit Siang who, like Muhyiddin, is against Azmin being made Prime Minister and Mukhriz, his deputy.
According to a well placed source, the senior Lim, through Ronie Liu, is willing to propose Muhyiddin’s name as Prime Minister in the event a motion of no confidence is triggered.
Team Muhyiddin isn’t seeking to collapse the Government of Malaysia (GoM) but is simply hoping that Muhyiddin will replace Mahathir as Prime Minister.
Anwar, on the other hand, is seeking to collapse the GoM and put in its place a caretaker government.
But the people he’s in talks with seem to think he has the numbers to form a new government.
He’s been telling them that Dato’ Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, Warisan and the DAP are willing to hop on to his team and that 40 MPs in PKR are with him.
But none of this is true.
Not only is PAS firmly with Mahathir – something I’ve been telling you since September last year – the Prime Minister commands the support of 125 MPs – excluding the majority in the DAP – and has resolved to throw Anwar back in prison very, very soon.
Furthermore, the majority of PKR MPs are with Azmin and are ever ready to join Mahathir in PPBM.

The Sun Daily report continued…
He said such allegation was made by the opposition to divert the people’s attention to the ongoing investigations and allegations made against their leaders, as well as the leadership crisis in their parties.
“It should be stressed that there is no issue of no-confidence vote against Dr Mahathir and this is merely an effort to destabilise and divert the focus of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government from working hard to ensure the wellbeing of the people.
TTF: Mat Sabu forgot to mention the deal he undertook with Mahathir.
As the story goes, Sabu himself assured Mahathir that he and his men in Amanah would back the latter in the event of a no-confidence vote.
“Amanah and other PH component parties will always throw our support behind the leadership of Dr Mahathir in a bid to completely reform and improve the country’s governance,” he said in a statement here today.
TTF: There you go…
Mohamad said what was important now was for Amanah to work hard to ensure victory for the PH candidate in the Semenyih state by-election and increase membership of the party.
TTF: That’s a lie.
Mahathir is secretly hoping that UMNO will win the Semenyih seat, or, at the very least, reduce PPBM’s majority.

All he’s trying to do is decide what the ultimate game plan will be, i.e., whether UMNO will merge with PPBM or if PPBM MPs will eventually cross-over to UMNO.
That is yet another reason why he wants Dato’ Seri Najib Tun Razak to lead UMNO.

He’s giving the former premier a helluva lot of press time to boost the latter’s popularity ratings.
The reason?
He wants to gauge if BN can perform better than it did in GE14 with Najib more or less in control despite all the corruption charges the former premier has been slapped with.
Should the coalition score better in two more polls, it would send a signal to Mahathir that the Malays are so pissed, they’re willing to compromise with anyone or anything that isn’t allied with the DAP.
Of course, this deduction takes the Chinese tendency to remain with the DAP as a given.
The bigger scores would start the ball rolling for Barisan Baru Nasional to be born, although, Mahathir will go ahead with a new coalition first before restructuring that coalition later to factor in Najib’s UMNO.
He knows, that at the end of the day, it would be easier to merge PPBM with UMNO as it would allow him to gain access to the remainder of UMNO’s assets, including those held by Najib’s proxies and nominees.
Basically, all he wants to do is determine if an UMNO-PPBM merger is a safe bet.
So don’t be too naive to think that the game plan is to rob seats from BN.
You need to have a criminal mind to understand Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and the IQ of a devil to defeat him.
