Fadhilah Abdulhamid, 42, pleaded not guilty to all of the charges which were read separately before judges Saifulakmal Mohd Said and Tengku Shahrizam Tuan Lah.

She was charged under Section 233(1)(a) Communication and Multimedia Act 1998, which is punishable under Section 233(3) of the same Act.


SEPANG: A housewife was charged at the Sessions Court here today with six counts of insulting Islam.

Fadhilah Abdulhamid, 42, pleaded not guilty to all of the charges which were read separately before judges Saifulakmal Mohd Said and Tengku Shahrizam Tuan Lah.




According to the charge sheet, Fadhilah, in her right mind, had uploaded postings that insulted Islam on her personal Facebook account and that her actions triggered dissatisfaction among other Facebook users.

She was accused to have committed all of the offences between 8.52pm on Feb 19 and 1.25pm on March 4.

She was charged under Section 233(1)(a) Communication and Multimedia Act 1998, which is punishable under Section 233(3) of the same Act.

Deputy public prosecutor Norhani Mohamad Adzhar prosecuted. Both judges fixed Dec 18 as mention and for the accused to appoint a lawyer.
