Muslims in Balakong should rally behind MCA’s Tan Chee Teong

TTF: Dato’ Seri Abdul Hadi Awang has declared that PAS will cooperate with the MCA, which has fielded Tan Chee Teong in the Balakong by-election.

“MCA is not in the same coalition. They did not agree and they just say they do not agree. They did not attack (us) as how did DAP did. That is the difference,” he said.

Hadi, like Dato’ Seri Najib Tun Razak, is no ordinary Muslim.

He has been consistent with his political ideology from day one and has dedicated his life to upholding the sanctity of Islam and leading the ummah to the right path.

If a man of his stature can let bygones be bygones and declare support for the MCA’s Tan Chee Teong, there is no reason for me or the Muslims in Balakong not to do so.

Hadi must have seen a saviour in Tan for him to have declared that support.

I hereby declare my own support for Tan and urge Muslims in Balakong to unite behind him if indeed the collective mission is to lead the country back towards the path of clear waters.

KAJANG: MCA candidate Tan Chee Teong held a ceramah outside a night market here, but only a handful of people turned up.

In fact, the 20 or so odd bystanders appeared to be MCA supporters in party T-shirts showing support for their Balakong candidate.

One man, who spoke to Malay Mail, said Tee would stand no chance to win the by-election in the Selangor state seat against DAP.

But nevertheless, the political newcomer opened his speech confidently by introducing himself as “a local boy who understands local issues better than anyone else”.

“I was born here, raised here and even got married here. I know all the issues here.

“When the time comes, please don’t forget to choose me,” he said to cheers by his party members.

The Balakong state seat was declared vacant following the death of its assemblymen Eddie Ng on July 20.

The by-election will see a straight fight between Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) Wong Siew Ki and MCA’s Tan.

Early voting for Balakong by-election was set on September 4, while the voting day is on September 8.
