Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is a hypocrite who seems to forget things whenever it is expedient and lies through his teeth to con the rakyat.
Earlier today, Najib was quoted as saying that he does not understand why UMNO and Barisan Nasional (BN) members are still part of a “failed government”.
Taking to Facebook, he said these leaders seemed to value their positions more than taking into account the interests of the nation, people and party.
Najib said he had warned the party in October last year that UMNO would bear some of the blame over Perikatan Nasional’s failure to govern well although it had no say in the government’s financial and economic direction.
Here’s why Najib is lying:
When Najib spoke of “Perikatan Nasional’s failure to govern,” he was already misleading the people.
This is because the government comprises of Barisan Nasional and Perikatan Nasional ministers and deputy ministers, all of whom attend cabinet meetings and make collective decisions.
For example, when Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin proposed a state of Emergency, he got a nod from all UMNO ministers.
Najib also lied when he claimed that UMNO had no say in the government’s financial and economic direction.
Truth is, the Federal Budget comprises proposals from ministries led by UMNO ministers who also took part in cabinet meetings that discussed the budget.
Thus, UMNO had a big say in the government’s financial and economic direction and supported huge and questionable allocations to JASA (renamed JKOM) and the Prime Minister’s Department.
Everyone knows that Najib was complicit with Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi in supporting Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s candidacy as Prime Minister without first consulting Barisan Nasional’s supreme council.
Najib and Zahid’s men tried desperately to solicit approvals for Anwar’s candidacy by seeking Statutory Declarations from as many Barisan Nasional Members of Parliament as possible.
However, they only managed to collect four, as many MPs were either opposed to Anwar or wanted to see how many SDs the PKR president had procured from Pakatan Harapan MPs.
When Najib realised that Anwar had only succeeded in collecting 49 SDs, he realised that the mission to topple Muhyiddin by voting against Budget 2021 would likely result in Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad returning to power.
Najib knew that the majority of MPs in UMNO and a sizable number from PPBM, AMANAH, Sabah, Sarawak and even PKR were receptive to the idea of having Mahathir return as Prime Minister.
As a result, Najib pushed Zahid and members of Team A (the court cluster) to support Budget 2021 despite crying bucket-loads of tears over dubious allocations to JASA and several other government departments.
When asked why he did not vote against the budget, Najib used the excuse that the government had agreed to the terms set by UMNO on the withdrawal of EPF funds by contributors.
As you can see, this was a lie and reason number one why Barisan Nasional is still a part of government today.
Thereafter, Najib, Zahid and Anwar made countless efforts to amass enough SDs to qualify Anwar as Prime Minister.
However, not only did these efforts fail, the total number of SDs Anwar himself collected never once exceeded the 60 mark.
This caused anxiety in Najib and Zahid’s camp and led to a secret plot to stretch the UMNO general assembly towards the end of March.
The duo wanted to buy time, hoping that Muhyiddin would get desperate and do one of two things:
a. Enter a transition agreement, the terms of which would see Muhyiddin agreeing to help them out with their court cases and hand over power to Zahid a year or two after the 15th general election, or
b. Enter a similar transition agreement with Anwar to gain PKR’s support and the support of pro-Anwar MPs from the DAP and AMANAH, the condition being that both Zahid and Anwar would be made deputy prime minister I and II.
The plan was for Zahid to then announce to UMNO general assembly delegates that UMNO would support PPBM during the 15th general election.
For the plan to work, Zahid and Najib would convince all division leaders and MPs that Muhyiddin agreed to a transition agreement and would make Zahid Deputy Prime Minister.
Najib and Zahid believed that Muhyiddin, being desperate and lacking majority, would enter such agreements to buy himself time so that he can remain in power while figuring out how to take control of UMNO and break up PKR.
They didn’t mind giving Muhyiddin that time, because they themselves needed Muhyiddin’s help and also the time to figure out how to topple Muhyiddin
However, Muhyiddin ignored them completely and set his sights on removing Zahid as UMNO president.
As a result, Zahid was forced to pretend during the UMNO general assembly that he was against Anwar and the DAP and wanted Barisan Nasional MPs to pull out from government as soon as possible.
But this was yet another gimmick by Zahid to prevent UMNO delegates from pushing for party elections, buying him more time so that he can stay on as party president.
Zahid was under the impression that UMNO MPs and division leaders would give him a month or two before pressuring him to decide when Barisan Nasional should pull out from government.
However, the majority in UMNO is getting very tired of him and is leaning towards an EGM to overthrow him.
Realising this, Najib’s men are afraid that Muhyiddin might get his men to pay division and branch leaders to support a PPBM proxy and succeed in taking control of UMNO during the EGM.
This has led to a secret movement by Najib’s men to overthrow Zahid by suggesting that Najib is the best person to lead UMNO towards GE15.
Yes, Najib wants to return as UMNO president. Until that happens, he will never instruct his supporters – some three to four MPs – to pull their support for government.
In other words, Najib lied when he said that he does not understand why UMNO and Barisan Nasional (BN) members are still part of a “failed government”.
Truth is, he wants UMNO and Barisan Nasional (BN) to remain in government for the moment, meaning, he understands damn well why Barisan Nasional is still a part of government.
And all this has to do with his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, who wants him to return as Prime Minister come hell or high water.
Did I not tell you Najib is the mother of all liars?
