“MRT Corp is always responsive towards complaints received and any damage caused by the construction of the MRT project”
PETALING JAYA: The completion of the second phase of the 51km Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Sungai Buloh-Kajang (SBK) Line has also improved existing infrastructure and facilities along the line, says Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
The Prime Minister said the main roads in Kajang such as Jalan Cheras and Jalan Reko was upgraded from a two-lane road to a four-lane road and roads were also resurfaced for road users.
He was responding to a question by Hulu Langat MP Dr Che Rosli Che Mat in Parliament on Monday.
“The construction of feeder bus stops and taxis was also not forgotten to ensure an efficient public transportation network.
“Even in Sungai Buloh and Kajang, the work scope of the MRT project also included the upgrading of KTM station facilities and new station was built for the line,” he said.
Najib said that MRT Corporation was also committed in ensuring that the project was completed on time to prevent inconveniences to the parties affected by the project construction.
“MRT Corp is always responsive towards complaints received and any damage caused by the construction of the MRT project,” he added.
Phase one of the MRT Line connecting Sungai Buloh and Semantan began operations in December last year, while the second and final phase extending to Kajang began operations on July 17.
