The health ministry has reported a record high 11,079 Covid-19 cases and 125 deaths in the past 24 hours.
The previous record high of infections was 9,353 on July 10.
In a press conference, Noor Hisham said the total number of infections now stands at 855,949.
There are 96,236 active cases with 972 patients being treated in intensive care and 456 requiring respiratory assistance.
PETALING JAYA: The health ministry has reported a record high 11,079 Covid-19 cases and 125 deaths in the past 24 hours.

Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 5,990 recoveries, bringing the total number of those discharged to 753,328.
In a press conference, Noor Hisham said the total number of infections now stands at 855,949.

There are 96,236 active cases with 972 patients being treated in intensive care and 456 requiring respiratory assistance.
Meanwhile, the 125 deaths take the number of fatalities to 6,385.
Selangor recorded the highest number of cases with 5,263.
This was followed by Kuala Lumpur (1,521), Negeri Sembilan (1,033), Kedah (497), Sarawak (472), Johor (406), Perak (329), Melaka (323), Pahang (321), Sabah (239), Penang (234), Kelantan (211), Terengganu (93), Putrajaya (77) and Labuan (60).
Perlis did not record any infections today.
