Rumours of Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein’s appointment as Deputy Prime Minister and WARISAN’s purported decision to join Perikatan Nasional is fake, a well-placed source has confirmed.
The Prime Minister’s Office has also clarified that no deputy prime minister will be appointed, contrary to news reports indicating that a candidate from UMNO has been chosen.
TTF has been informed that several Members of Parliament will be joining in Jazlan’s footsteps by making an exit this week. It is said that Muhyiddin will not be able to counter the exodus as the total number of MPs involved is significant.
Another source in the know confirmed that team Muhyiddin is actively seeking the participation of Members of Parliament from the opposition block to join Perikatan Nasional, knowing well in advance that his government will not last beyond this week.

According to the source, rumours of Hishammuddin’s appointment was deliberately floated around to cause a split among Members of Parliament who are said to be planning an exit from the government block.
Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has officially lost majority support following Machang Member of Parliament Ahmad Jazlan’s decision to retract his support for government.
This has put in jeopardy Muhyiddin’s position as Prime Minister as several legal experts have suggested that he is duty bound to meet the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong to inform His Royal Highness of the matter before tendering his resignation.
