Nga’s phantom voter claim a bucket load of nonsense

TELUK INTAN: UMNO Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman today dismissed as a figment of the imagination a DAP charge that the Barisan Nasional had brought more than 50,000 phantom voters to Perak.

He said the accusation made by Perak DAP chairman Nga Kor Ming was an opposition tactic to lure voters away from the BN.

“He (Nga) is creating a story so that voters will lose confidence in the BN and vote for his party – that is the only objective. Do not believe the fairy tales which the opposition will create when elections are near.

“Evidently, this is not the first time that the BN is being linked to allegations of bringing in foreign nationals as voters. Previously, the opposition had claimed that 40,000 Bangladesh nationals voted in the 13th General Election,” he said.

Tajuddin, who is the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Agro-based Industry, spoke to reporters after opening a university-industry seminar awareness programme for Perak schools organised by the Taj International College here.

Nga had made the alleged accusation in a Twitter post last week.
