#TTFCovid19: The Ministry of Health will consider three main factors before deciding if the government imposed Movement Control Order (MCO) to break the chain of Covid-19 infections can be lifted.
This was revealed by Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah at a daily briefing on the Covid-situation in Malaysia with regards to the pandemic.
Apart from the virulence, Hisham said the ministry would also take into consideration the infectivity rate and economic consequences brought about by the pandemic.

PETALING JAYA: The Ministry of Health will consider three main factors before deciding if the government imposed Movement Control Order (MCO) to break the chain of Covid-19 infections can be lifted.
Hisham assured Malaysians that the MoH would hinge its decisions purely on scientifically proven facts and factual data.
“Whether MCO will continue or not, as I said we base it on science and fact. Today if you can see two digits (of positive cases) until the end maybe one digit, then probably we are doing well.
“But we should not be complacent, we need to take necessary precautions. Life will not be the same when we complete the third (phase) of the MCO. That means we have to comply with certain health regulations so we can reduce the risk of infection,” he said.
Hisham added that the fatality rate in Malaysia was still lower than other countries.
“As for the infectivity rate, currently there are 2,115 active cases which have the potential to infect other people if they are out within the community.
“That is the reason why we have to admit them at the hospitals irrespective of whether they are asymptomatic or only developing mild symptoms related to Covid-19.
“This will enable the ministry to observe and provide the necessary treatment.”
