Another Brick in the Wall

UMNO Veterans Club Secretary General, Datuk Mustapha Yaakub posted in his Facebook yesterday evening. He heard that Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim is short only of 4 seats and has sufficient numbers to pressure Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to resign in the current Parliamentary session.
In another posting, he wrote without referring to anyone, that he hated a person for destroying the Malays and wished that the person would die in Iman and that his sins would be forgiven by Allah.
This morning, a source close to Dato Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi confidently claimed that Anwar is short of 3 seats. When asked if Zahid signed any Statutory Declaration to support the latter as claimed by most political columnists, he gave an emphatic NO!
Except perhaps Dato Nazri Aziz, Zahid affirmed UMNO is neither supporting Anwar nor Mahathir and will remain steadfast with the BN opposition coalition and work towards ummah unity with PAS.
This evening, an important source of information claimed Anwar has the numbers and is ready to meet Seri Paduka Baginda Yang DiPertuan Agong with signed Statutory Declarations of MPs.
When asked in jest if the transition will happen on the 16thof September, the source said that this is for real. It is only a matter of when he will seek the audience with Agong.
So everyone read Zahid wrongly?
Granted, one can never know what politicians do beyond our eyesights, but beyond the eyesights of most analysts, there is information they’re not privy to.
More so, the analysis of most university lecturers’ tend to be dependent on official statements and media reports. It’s like forecasting a share price with last year’s results.
Zahid pro-Anwar or pro-Najib?
The source confidently said Mahathir’s reading is right. Though Zahid is a long-time friend of Anwar, his loyalty is towards Najib.
He put in crudely, “Friendship aside, orang sembahyang tidak boleh sokong orang semburit.”
The source close to Zahid confirmed the same information.
Among reasons cited to speculate that Zahid is loyal to Anwar was that he was never adversarial towards Anwar and PKR and even extended help to the latter. Upon release from prison, Zahid gave Anwar the benefit of the doubt and believed he would have repented.
However, Zahid changed his mind after Anwar’s trip to Turkey in July 2018 for spinal surgery and Lim Kit Siang came to visit Anwar.
