Tan Sri Annuar Musa apologised to PAS over some “hurtful” remarks made by several UMNO leaders against its Muafakat Nasional (MN) comrade at the party’s annual general assembly at Putra World Trade Centre yesterday
Annuar’s remark is believed to have been aimed primarily at UMNO president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Zahid also began ranting about a pest and backstabber within UMNO who he challenged to resign.
Although he did not name Annuar Musa, it was clear that his challenge was aimed at the Federal Territories Minister who many within UMNO are opposed to.
“If he’s a man, he should resign as minister,” said Zahid, drawing cheers and applause from the crowd. “This is a pest. If it wasn’t for Umno, he wouldn’t be in such a position.”
PETALING JAYA: Tan Sri Annuar Musa apologised to PAS over some “hurtful” remarks made by several UMNO leaders against its Muafakat Nasional (MN) comrade at the party’s annual general assembly at Putra World Trade Centre yesterday
Dubbed PPBM’s mouthpiece,” Annuar said he was uncomfortable with some of the remarks made at the assembly, which was also attended also by PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang and deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man.
“We invited component parties and our comrades like Hadi and others, but the speeches could offend and hurt these leaders and component parties.
“I apologise to those who have been offended. I saw that some were angry,” he said in an online talk show on the Umno assembly.
Annuar’s remark is believed to have been aimed primarily at UMNO president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
In his speech, Zahid urged PAS to continue what they had jointly started with Umno under Muafakat Nasional, telling them that the political pact had yet to “fully bloom”.
“We agree that any party in MN shouldn’t be hasty in joining any other political pact.”
Zahid also began ranting about a pest and backstabber within UMNO who he challenged to resign.
