PKR Youth secretary Ahmad Syukri Che Ab Razak was questioned by the police today over a number of notorious and riotous assaults at the wing’s congress on Friday.

Syukri reportedly said the scuffles broke because some PKR members failed to comply with a dress code requiring them to wear baju melayu to the meeting.

However, TTF was made to understand that several youth groups clad in black t-shirts were let into the congress hall even though they did not comprise delegates.

According to a well-placed source, it was Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s men who issued a directive to the doormen not to grant Mizan and number of Azmin’s people entry into the hall.

PETALING JAYA: PKR Youth secretary Ahmad Syukri Che Ab Razak was questioned by the police today over a number of notorious and riotous assaults at the wing’s congress on Friday.

According to a news report, Syukri was questioned at the Malacca police headquarters in Bukit Beruang from 2pm to 4pm.

Syukri reportedly said the scuffles broke because some PKR members failed to comply with a dress code requiring them to wear baju melayu to the meeting.

However, TTF was made to understand that several youth groups clad in black t-shirts were let into the congress hall even though they did not comprise delegates.

This led to dissatisfaction when doormen prevented former youth chairman Mizan Adli Md Noor and his team from entering.

The back and forth between a disgruntled group and the doormen escalated into tumult before ending in fist-fights, injuries and bloodshed.

According to a well-placed source, it was Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s men who issued a directive to the doormen not to grant Mizan and number of Azmin’s people entry into the hall.

Meanwhile, Syukri lodged a police report along with a few others over a screenshot allegedly showing an attempt by PKR Youth deputy chief Hilman Idham to hire “certain groups to provoke trouble at the congress”.

Hilman has since denied this, saying he was not an organiser and had no need to appoint security.

“What do I want to hire the security team for? We are the government of the day. We could get assistance from Rela or police to help,” he reportedly told Malaysiakini.
