GEORGE TOWN: Police today detained Penang Chief Minister’s Office information officer Wan Ji Wan Hussin to facilitate investigations into a police report against the man for allegedly insulting the sultans.
Wan Ji, who is also a freelance lecturer and Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) activist, was detained at 2.40 pm at the Sembilang Mosque compound here after Friday prayers.
Penang Police Chief Datuk Chuah Ghyee Lye, when contacted, confirmed the arrest of Wan Ji and he had been brought back to Bukit Aman police headquarters.
Wan Ji is being investigated under Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act 1948, he said.
