GEORGE TOWN: Penang Gerakan has accused the DAP-led state government of bullying PKR, an ally of DAP in Pakatan Harapan.
Its vice-chairman, Oh Tong Keong, said today that DAP had sacked a village development and security committee chairman appointed by PKR, namely the chairman for Kampung Juru in Simpang Ampat.
Prior to that DAP had frozen financial allocations for constituencies held by PKR, he said in a statement.
Oh alleged that the village committee chairman was sacked because he had declined to join DAP.
“I believe other such cases had happened and more would happen. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Penang PKR is powerless. It is not bold enough to confront Penang DAP. If PKR continues to remain silent, it cannot be ruled out that DAP will wrest control of several PKR parliamentary and state seats in the next general election,” he said.
Oh claimed that the Kampung Juru village committee chairman was sacked effective June 1.
