Penang Pas today lodged a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) against former Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng and former Attorney-General Tan Sri Tommy Thomas over an alleged move to unfreeze a tycoon’s bank accounts linked to the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) controversy.

State Pas Youth deputy chief Abdul Razib Abdul Rahim claimed both were believed to have used their positions to cancel the freezing of an accounts belonging to a ‘property boss’, still under investigation. 

“We urge the MACC to re-look the expose, and the letter, allegedly written by Thomas (to unfreeze the bank accounts) upon Lim’s request,” he told newsmen when met outside the state MACC office at Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah here today.

Abdul Razib urged the MACC to investigate and take action against the duo for “undoing” the provisions of the law.

“We believe that Lim had, directly or indirectly, used his position, power and influence, which resulted in the former AG issuing an order to the MACC to unfreeze the tycoon’s bank accounts.

“Similarly, we also believe that Thomas, had directly or indirectly, used his position, power and influence which resulted in the MACC cancelling the freezing of the said accounts despite being told by MACC officers that RM4 million has yet to be paid to the government.

“We urge the MACC to re-look the expose, and the letter, allegedly written by Thomas (to unfreeze the bank accounts) upon Lim’s request,” he told newsmen when met outside the state MACC office at Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah here today.

Abdul Razib urged the MACC to investigate and take action against the duo for “undoing” the provisions of the law.

Earlier, Abdul Razib alleged that he had seen the letter from Thomas to Lim in the suara.tv website and the ‘Peniup Wisel Siber’ Facebook page on June 2.
