KOTA BARU: No PKR leader has resigned from their position in Kelantan local councils despite being ordered to do so last month.
Malaysiakini quoted Kelantan Mentri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yaakob as confirming the news.
PKR had instructed all of its representatives in the state to relinquish their posts on May 16.
The call came after the Islamist party formally cut ties with PKR on May 11.
“They have not resigned and things are proceeding as usual.
“It was not what we expected,” Ahmad, who is also PAS deputy spiritual leader, was quoted as saying.
In the same report, PKR’s Guchil state assemblyman Mohd Roslan Puteh confirmed that his party’s leaders had yet to resign from their positions due to ongoing “negotiations between Kelantan PKR and central leadership.”
